The Sharjah Art Museum has a collection of modern and contemporary art by artists from United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern countries. It is a popular venue that hosts a number of exhibitions throughout the year. It is one of the largest Art Museums in the United Arab Emirates and features a permanent collection that includes valuable artwork of HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and works by artists who painted the Arab world.
The main attraction is the artworks by 18th century artists who visited the Middle East and painted down their fascination which was basically influenced by the natural environment, architecture and the culture of the region. From Saturday – Thursday it is open from 8am-8pm and on Fridays it is only open from 4pm-8pm.
